What Does Peace Feel Like?

Ariana brought in a lovely book to share today. She and her mom found this at the library, and when they read it they thought of our school. It is a book written by delightful grade-schoolers (like us) who love peace (like us) and it is written much like a poem. It is full of similes and metaphors about what peace feels like, tastes like, smells like, etc.

After reading it, some of the children wanted to give me their ideas.

Peace TASTES like

A yummy banana smoothie that my mom makes for me

Lentil soup from Shalimar

Zingerman's bread

Peace SMELLS like

the nice butterfly flowers in my grandma's front yard

chocolate

Peace SOUNDS like

rain against the window when you are snuggled up in bed

icicles when they fall from the roof

best friends playing
