Dominic, by William Steig, is the book I'm reading aloud now, having finished the wonderful Ronia, the Robber's Daughter. Some of the children remember having heard the book 2 years ago when they were in Elaine's room, but were very eager to hear it again. I don't blame them - this is a great and exciting book. Dominic is a true hero and it does my heart good to read such uplifting material.
