Special Readers

It is time to start our “Special Reader” routine! Each Wednesday, 2 children will come with a book to share with their classmates. This is a great opportunity to practice reading aloud (clearly, loudly, and with expression) as well as being a great audience member (listening with ears, eyes, and heart).

If it is your child’s turn to be a special reader, please help them select an appropriate book. Picture books with humor are always appreciated. I know many children are excited when they are able to read longer chapter books, but I have to say that unless they are short, funny excerpts, it can be difficult to retain the attention of the audience!

Here is the upcoming schedule – Mark your calendars!

• September 10 – Alec and Justin

• September 17 – Erin and Peter

• September 24 – Lea and Beatrix

Hi, Susan.
If you can let us know what book each student chose, we can help our son to pick a book when his turn comes. If you can write about this in your blog or email to everybody, that would be great. - Hiromi

Hi Hiromi - Today's book choices were Tackylocks and Olivia Saves the Circus. I will try to remember to email future book choices - good idea. However, I wouldn't discount the children remembering...Heck, some of the students I've taught for multiple years remember the books I read 3 years ago! Thanks for the comment.
