Seasonal Walk with Faye

Summers-Knoll kids have a special relationship to our neighboring recreation area - County Farm Park. It is such a beautiful little gem to have right next door - like a great big classroom full of trees, flowers and animals. Today was a special day as we were met there by Faye Stoner, who is a naturalist with Washtenaw County. Faye walked with us for over an hour as we looked for signs of fall and learned about what animals and plants do this time of year. Faye has a remarkable way with children - she never talks down to them, and is patient and wonderful to listen to. I learn something each time I meet her. Anyway, be sure to ask your child about our very special morning.

We will be meeting with Faye again in the winter and spring.

Michael says that he enjoyed the afternoon. I'm always happy during the nice days because you make such an effort to have them outside.
