First EB Class a Success!

The students were so very excited when they came to school this morning. Marcel rushed in right away and said, "Guess what! EBs start today!"

Our schedule is as follows:
Mondays - 12:30 - 1:30
Tuesdays - 10:00 - 11:00

After EBs, each child wanted to tell me what they had done and learned - "We made bread!" "I made a airplane that really flew!" There will be a total of six sessions this time, so five more to go.

The nine children who are in my EB heard a story, and then got some very odd looking "bracelets" - simply a piece of duct tape wrapped around their wrists, sticky side up. We then headed out to the woods for a walk - looking for tiny little pieces of nature that we could stick to the tape. Our bracelets turned out simply beautiful - all different, just like we are. Andrew A. wanted to stick with a color theme (he really likes red), others wanted only leaves, and still others wanted a lot of everything, as long as it was small. This is an activity you can easily do at home, or on vacation - it is like a scrapbook on a wrist!

Tomorrow will be another fun day - I'm sure the children will love to show you their creations.

We cut off the bracelets, punched a couple holes, and used yarn. This way the bracelets can be taken off and on.
