This morning, each child got a turn on my trusty Singer sewing machine, stuffed their pillows, and hand-sewed them up. SO many thanks go to my crafty partner, Ianna, for threading all those needles and helping the children with the hand-work.

This is just one of the many ways to help children feel ownership of their classroom (which then transfers to their whole learning experience). They made their own pillows! It is a reason to be proud. The pillows will be used each day as we settle down for some quiet reading.

Vroooooooom! This child likened sewing to racing a car!

So proud!

So sleepy!
