On Friday, both 1st and 2nd grade classes spent a couple hours at the MRF (pronounced "merf"). This recycling facility is amazing! We learned so much more about what can and can't be recycled, and were fascinated to see what NEW products can be made - like a t-shirt made from plastic water bottles!
Students played games, made paper, and went on a tour of the facilities. We looked so fine in our vests and hard hats and goggles!
Did you know that one Saturday a month, from September - June, the MRF has open houses? The next one will be on Saturday, June 13th, from 10a.m. - noon. The activity changes each month, but it is always fun. In June, your child can create summer streamers using hot air balloon fabric.
