Snow Ice Cream

Our Environmental Super Hero project this month is a not-so-serious one. Sure, we can compost with worms, recycle and reuse, and save the raptors ... but sometimes you just want to find ways to cherish the earth and eat something sweet at the same time. So, today, we made snow ice cream. Most of the children really loved it and begged me to send the recipe. So, grab a pencil because it's kind of complicated. You need:

1. fresh snow (about 10-12 cups)
2. can of sweetened condensed milk
3. tablespoon of vanilla extract (optional)

That's it!

Here are the children harvesting. We used one of our lovely, untouched courtyards for the freshest "crops".

A bowl full of fresh snow, to which we added and stirred the next two ingredients:

Thumbs up for a delicious treat!
