April Foolishness

On April 1st, the children were full of jokes and tricks. All the adults were fooled many times. In the afternoon, my students were beginning to despair of getting any tricks from me - and, indeed, they did not. I did, however, give each one a package of seeds, "to celebrate spring."

These seeds were doughnut seeds - one of my favorite crops. A couple students took their seed packages outside at recess and planted them on the playground. Fingers crossed, we would soon be harvesting delicious sweets.

And then, it happened! Almost overnight, the first crop was ready to be picked. We had enough doughnuts for the entire group of first and second graders.
