Ecology Center Visit

This week we were visited by Lauren from the Ecology Center. I requested a presentation called Grow, Eat, and Throw. This program tied in with much of what we have been talking and learning about all year - eating healthy, non-processed foods, recycling/reusing/taking care of our planet, and - most recently - life cycles.

Lauren handed out many examples of the life cycles of common food products, including natural foods (like apples) to processed foods (like chicken nuggets). We traced where they were grown/made, how they traveled to the store or market, and what happens to them when we are done with them.

Thank you, Lauren from the Ecology Center!
