Yesterday, we went to the Zen Buddhist Temple. I had never been before, but always wondered about the big yellow house I pass each afternoon on the way home. We were warmly greeted and led into some gentle mindfulness activities. We even got to tour part of the house, and asked lots of questions about the different things we saw.
Next week, we will start each morning with a 10 minute guided meditation. We did this last year, and it was pretty remarkable how much more peaceful and focused we were at the start of our day. Each child will get 5 pebbles, and we will make a pouch to keep them in. All families are welcome to join us - it may start your day off better, too!
