Space Flip Book Animation!

We had a LOT of fun this morning creating our space-themed flip books. We looked on YouTube for some examples as not everyone was sure they knew what a flip book was. We saw that they are pretty cool devices to illustrate motion or change.

To get the students thinking, I mentioned that the phases of the moon would make for an interesting flip book. Then I asked for other suggestions that has related to something we've talked about this month. Oliver mentioned the life cycle of a star, while Owen was more intrigued by meteor strikes. Other children mentioned a rocket ship blasting off, or comets streaking across the sky.

I tried to simultaneously flip Oliver's book and film it, so forgive the quality of the little video.
