Starting Monday, January 3, I would like to enlist the help of all families to collect their junk mail. This should be done for one full week, with the end day of collection Sunday, January 9. Then, on Monday the 10th, please bring in the week's junk mail for us to weigh.
We will use this not only as a data collection exercise (we will estimate how much junk mail would accumulate in a year) but we will also explore ways to cut back on the amount of junk mail received. Brochures will be created to share what we've learned, and I hope to do a follow-up activity in several months to see if we've had an impact on our little community! All great stuff for our environmental super heroes to ponder.
