Howell Nature Center

We had a great time of outdoor adventure and teamwork yesterday at Howell Nature Center.
It took teamwork to move some of the logs during our shelter building exercise.

Teams of children had to come up with a shelter plan, and then use the materials to build a shelter that would hold all of them.

Fire building was next.

This one was a beauty!

After we learned about bats, students were taught an echolocation game - one child was the bat, one was the moth, and the rest were trees.

Our last activity before dinner was the zip line. This got a big "thumbs up" from everyone.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Oliver G!

Susan, were you really up at 2:19 AM? On a school night? Kids naturally love the outdoors and I can tell it was a learning experience. wish I could right there in the mix. Great work as always.
