Each child should continue to bring in goodies so we can price and sort. Today, in math class, we priced a lot of the toys that have been brought in already. Each item is priced either 1 cent, 5 cents, 10 cents or 25 cents. It was interesting to me to see children designate value. Sometimes one toy was priced as 1 cent, and an identical one priced at 25 cents.
On October 21, each child should bring in $1.00 and a shopping bag. Then the fun will begin!
We started math this morning by talking about the different ways that they could bring in $1.00. We listed lots and lots of ways on the board. This might be a fun thing to continue at home. There are 293 different ways! What a great challenge.
Then, we got pricing. Small groups worked together to decide prices. I supplied lots of price labels, and noticed that I already need to get some more!
And, here is what our market looks like so far. Now the hard work of ignoring the table during classtime begins - so tempting!

Susan I cannot praise you enough for the awesome ways you come up with to teach your class. I am sure they have had so much fun bringing in and pricing the items.
Another great job.
