Our BEAUTIFUL Garden!

Yesterday, we piled in the bus and went to The Produce Station. Each child got to pick out one flower or herb. It was a lot of fun looking at all the different types of flowers, and it was a time of hard decisions.

Today was Planting Day. First, we read the tags on our flowers to find out the common name, botanical name, and height. Then we sketched out our plan on the blackboard, trying to get the taller plants in the middle. Special attention was paid to color and symmetry as well. I think the finished product is testament to what can happen if everyone works together. It is beautiful!

And now - it can rain! It was nice for it to hold off until the end of the day, so we could enjoy some outside time at County Farm Park this afternoon (after our feast of Stone Soup and homemade french bread!).
