Whangdoodle Party

We finished a great book, The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles, last week, and the kids and I thought it would be fun to have some sort of celebration. It is a delightful read-aloud book, and talks of the importance of friendship, loyalty and imagination.

We met lots of colorful and crazy characters. There was the Whangdoodle, of course.

The Whifflebird was another main character, but there were so many others.

Today, we made Scrappy Caps. These allowed the children in the story to be open to magical worlds.

Everyone looks great! I think the Scrappy Caps are working!

The best part was making and eating "wodge". It's easy and delicious.

But there was one unfortunate side effect. Just like in the book, wodge makes those who eat it very, very sleeeeeeepy.
