Happy Earth Day



Happy Earth Day to all of the families of Summers-Knoll! Today, one of the special activities we did was to scrub some dried gourds to make houses for our bird friends. I purchased these gourds from a farmer this past Fall, and then drilled holes and found some nice sturdy laces for hanging. My students worked a long time today using scrubbies and soapy water to get all the dirt and yuck off. They are beautiful now, but will be even more beautiful after we shine them up and make them weather resilient. These should be completely ready by Friday.
