Mad Science!

Today was the first ever Mad Scientist Day at Summers-Knoll. The children in K-3 were transformed into mad science students, complete with lab coats and new identities. They traveled in small groups to 4 different science stations to do really cool and messy chemistry experiments. The students in the 4/5 + class showed the others how to make Slime (Borax + Glue = Fun), underwater fireworks, bendable chicken bones, homemade playdough, cornstarch and water, volcanoes with baking soda and vinegar and more!

After a couple hours of exploration, we then snacked on colloidal suspensions in petri dishes and blue fizzy drinks in eyeball beakers. Very delicious.

And now, I am going home to make a concoction of my own. Thank you to Karen and Kjirsten for lending a hand!
