On Monday, Beatrix's Grandma came to spend time with us (as she usually does on Monday afternoons). However, this time she had a special treat in store for us! Karen brought two machines with her - a sewing machine and a super-deluxe embroidery machine. After a brief and very interesting lesson on the history of sewing and sewing machines, we then got to watch as our names were miraculously embroidered on pieces of cloth. Finally, we sewed two pieces of fabric together to complete our very special bookmarks.
It is times like this that I feel especially blessed to be part of this great, supportive community. Beatrix is a very lucky grandchild, and it is so generous of her to share her grandmother's gifts and love.
