Math Pentathlon Games
Today Clay and Hiromi came to teach my math group some Math Pentathlon games. Somehow, they also wrangled in Jim (Erin's dad) to help (see what happens when you hang around at drop off time too long?) Using specially-designed board games, the children were encouraged to use problem solving and mathematical reasoning. It was a lot of fun, and a nice break from the Singapore books. Children really do learn best when they are having fun, don't they?
Looking over the previous few posts makes me think, "Man, do I have great classroom parents, or what?"
