Genre Studies is one of my favorite themes...and folktales are probably my favorite genre, so it was easy to choose folktales for April’s unit of study. However, I wanted to narrow the focus on a specific type of folktale, so I chose (are you ready?) Southern Appalachian folktales, specifically “Jack Tales”. Pretty specific, eh?
This will be a fun month! As an additional bonus, my husband is an old-time Appalachian banjo player who may be convinced to come and share some great tunes.
