Good news: We will be doing an author study about Roald Dahl this month--author of many favorites, like The Witches, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and others. We've already read Danny the Champion of the World this year, and it was wonderful to share my all time favorite book with the students.
Bad news: December is a very short month--just three weeks! I'm not sure how much we will get to in such a limited time, especially with everything else that is going on in the classroom. I definitely will read one longer chapter book aloud (probably Witches), and this will probably be combined with some one-act play(s).
I will also be asking all children to read at least one book by Dahl and to prepare a presentation - more details will be going home soon.
