We travel to Ancient Egypt in January! I know many students have really been looking forward to this unit – with good reason. Pharaohs, mummies, pyramids, gods and goddesses -- this is an extremely fascinating time and place. Students will study the geography, culture, and social organization of Ancient Egypt. Through an examination of various aspects of Ancient Egyptian society, we will develop an understanding and appreciation of the nature and achievements of that society, and also the influence that this civilization had on those that followed.
Ample opportunities for hands-on learning will be explored – we will practice hieroglyphics, build pyramids, and maybe even get wrapped like mummies!
