Laura Kaplan from the Ecology Center visited on Firday (the 2nd of November) to turn my class of students into "garbologists"! Teams of students were given bags full of * clean * garbage and were challenged to divide it into various categories. There were a couple of surprises...like, did you know that number 2 plastic can NOT be recycled unless it is shaped like a bottle? That used aluminum foil can go with the cans? That a used juice box or milk carton is not considered paper, but a container? We all learned something, and had a good time, too! Thank you, Ecology Center!
