It Was a Dark and Stormy ... Quiet Reading Time?
We lucked out on Wednesday morning - our field trip to the Farmers Market was nice and dry. The rain held off until lunch time, and the children (and I) came in from recess rather damper than before. The sky had darkened, too, aaaaaad - since it WAS October, I thought it was high time to make some tents, pass out some flashlights, and distribute some of the dozens of Halloween books I've collected over the years. I'm a bit of a Halloween freak (surpassed only by S-K Valentine's Day), so I have been waiting until it was "acceptable" to break them out. The children had such a wonderful time we went way past time, and barely had time to illustrate our poem of the week. Oh well - time well spent I think.
