The children were proud to share their decorated blackboard, their slightly cleaner than normal desks, and their homemade raspberry cream tartlets (both vegan and dairy). Each one clearly read their thoughtfully selected poem and listened respectfully when it was someone else's turn. All in all, it is easy to see why this is always one of my favorite smallish-but-important events of the year.

Poem in Pocket Day a Success!
Today's Poem in Pocket Tea Party was a big success, in large part thanks to all the great poetry that was pre-selected by parents and children together. We heard selections from Shel Silverstein to Langston Hughes to Mary Oliver - with just a touch of AA Milne. We had a lovely turn out, too! Thank you to all the parents who could rush over for a bit of tea, poetry, and a smackerel of something sweet.
