What with planned days off and snow/deep freeze days, these past two weeks have been highly
unusual, to say the least. We’ve done our best to keep our routines on track, and the children on
an even keel. I know we are all very happy to think about going outside to enjoy all that Michigan
winter has to offer – playing in the snow, sliding on the ice, and breathing all that good fresh air!

We continued practicing the game Remainders in math. This is really helping children solidify what
it means to divide, how to properly write a division problem, and what “remainders” means. It is a
simple game, but a powerful introduction to a tricky concept.

On Tuesday this week, we had the joy of listening to two wonderful special readers – Mira and
Sophia. They each had lovely – and very different – books to share. We enjoyed them both very
much. We also started a new (shorter) chapter book by Roald Dahl, called George’s Marvelous
Medicine.

Friday was a big day as we had our first session of this round of EBs. Children were so excited to
go to Squishy Circuits with Shan, Take Flight with Grace, There Be Dragons with Val, or Project
Happy with me. Whatever class they ended up in, I’m sure your child will have lots of exciting news
to share.

Children are eagerly adding to our 100 cans boxes! Thank you so much. The 100th day of
school keeps getting moved back, but it will be here before we know it.
