Field Trips in October

Our field trip to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market on Wednesday, October 3 was a wonderful start to October travels into the community. Children learned where their food comes from, and experienced a wide variety of sights, smells, tastes, and sounds. They interviewed farmers to learn how insects and weeds could be controlled without chemicals, and practiced their listening, writing, and drawing skills at the same time. Here are some more upcoming October trips:

Tuesday, October 16: County Farm Park
This will be the first of three science/nature hikes with naturalist Kelsey. We will head over for the last hour of the day, from 2:30 - 3:30. While there, we will be doing some tree identification, and looking for mosses and mushrooms. Parents are always welcome to come along on these hikes.

Friday, October 26: Wild Swan Theater
We will be heading to the Wild Swan Theater to see A Honey Pot of Pooh Stories with Grace's class. Wild Swan productions are always a fun treat for the children. We will be heading off around 9:30, and will be back in time for lunch. There are no extra tickets available for parent volunteers, but you are always welcome to purchase your own, of course.
