Starting the Day in a Mindful Way

There has been a huge amount of research in the past few years about the importance of teaching young children meditation techniques, or mindfulness. We start every morning (except Friday) with 5-10 minutes of mindful sitting. I have a couple of different CDs I use, and they vary in length and message. Sometimes I lead mindfulness myself.



It is probably the sweetest part of the day, especially when parents join us. If you can take a few moments in the morning, I’d love to see you in our classroom sitting on a cushion by your child – I promise to have you out the door by 9:00, with a smile on your face.The gentle breathing and guided meditation helps us all start the day in a centered and gentle way.




Please be aware that the door closes promptly at 8:45, and tardy children are not to enter until the door reopens.
