The final round of exploration block classes for the 2017-2018 school started today. Children were very excited to go to one of four exciting choices: Val's "A Line Can Be..." drawing class, Shan's Game Board class, Grace's Storytelling with Puppets, or my Wild about Jane Goodall. There was something for everyone - art, gaming, science, language arts, nature, and more.
There are four more sessions - Monday and Thursday of next week, and then Monday and Thursday of the following week.

Wild about Jane scientists decorate their journals and binoculars |
Just like Jane, Ian quietly observes, and makes careful observations |
Like Jane, scientists observe a wild creature, our own tortoise in the Middle School Commons |
Val's line artists explore lines outside after doing some work with lines inside! |
Here's some of their fine work - oh, what a line can be! |
Shan's group started with board games that have already been invented ... |
and then modified them ! |
Here, some puppeteers are working with black paper to make beautiful shadow puppets - I can't wait to hear the stories they will tell! |
