This Week in Review - April 17 - 21

This information also found in Walter's Weekly Email:

In math this week, while still working hard in our Singapore books and with our big "how to multiply" project, we are also turning to a favorite theme of probability and data collection. We are starting with 50/50 coin tosses and will go from there.

We continue work on our memory books, and are writing on the final photographs of the year. We really want the final pages to reflect our best and most complete writing. We are already nearing the end of our read-aloud, Clementine, and will be doing a written review of it soon. Handwriting, poetry recitation and analysis, and other literacy routines round out the day. We are looking forward to Poem in the Pocket Day next week, and will be selecting a special cookie recipe to bake prior to the event.

Earth Day is Saturday, and we did our annual decoration of Trader Joe's bags. You may get one if you shop there on Saturday. Shan tied in Earth Day during Science on Friday during a special Earth Day lesson - she took the children to see the Great Horned Owl and her babies living in Eberwhite Woods!
