On the last day before Winter Break, 12/18/15, we will not only decorate a cookie cottage, but will also enjoy our first Pajama Day of the school year. In conjunction with pajama day, we will also be doing a pajama collection drive through Scholastic Books. (They donate a book with each pair we donate - a win-win!)
The Lower School team would like to spread some warmth and holiday cheer to families in need. This collection drive was also done last year with great success - we collected 36 pairs that went to a local homeless shelter for families. So, on your next shopping trip, could you and your child select a new pair of cozy pajamas to share with a child this holiday season? Hopefully, lots of pajamas will be collected and distributed on behalf of Summers-Knoll School. Here is the parent flyer with more details. Thanks for all that you do!
Pajamas can come to school anytime, but we are hoping to get them in by Monday, December 14th. Warm and snuggly winter ones for young children are the best. We will count, sort, and celebrate our success on the 18th. Also on the 18th, the children can come dressed in their pajamas if they so desire. Please note that this is a half day for students. Dismissal is at 11:30 A.M.
