Spinning Dot Theater Enthralls!

This morning, the first and second grade classes had the privilege of being one of the first audiences to preview a play performed by Spinning Dot Theater. This play was called This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing. It was enthralling for our young students - their faces shone with rapt attention. You can read more about it by clicking HERE.

This was a particularly thrilling experience, I think, since the children were told that they would give valuable feedback to make the play even better. After the performance, they did a little talk-back, and told the director, Jenny, what they remembered, what they liked, and what was confusing. Children were not talked down to, but really respectfully listened to. It was lovely.

There was also a bit of audience participation, as children were asked to wave pieces of cloth to represent the water or battle.

Spinning Dot is a new theater company right here in Ann Arbor. They have 3 shows coming in June, to be shown at The Carriage House Theater. I will put additional information in your child's backpack, in case you are interested (I know they are!).
