Times to Join Us - Parents are Truly Welcome!

There are times each day that would be so lovely to have a parent or two pop in. Please feel free to join us for the following occasions:

We start each morning with a 5-10 minute mindfulness exercise. It is a lovely way to transition calmly into our day. Children love to have their parents join as we close our eyes, listen to a guided meditation, and focus on our breath.

Plus, if you open your eyes for a quick peek, like I did, you may see something as sweet as the above picture. That alone would make your day start off better, right?

Another time that we would love to see you is lunch and/or right after lunch. Perhaps you find that you have an opening during your day - you could join your child for lunch/recess and then come into the room for some quiet reading. Quiet reading time happens each day from 12:30 for about 1/2 hour. I take this time to read with individual children - sometimes giving formal and/or informal assessments, sometimes taking turns reading with them, sometimes just reading quietly to them. It would be lovely to have another adult to listen to children read!

In another week, math groups will start. I've already had some people contact me about being a "math helper". As more information about grouping gets solidified, I will be sure to reach out to parents who are willing to help in this way. Math happens most Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays at 9:00a.m. I much prefer parents having a regular time slot rather than the occasional drop-in for this purpose.

Lastly, please let me know if you can be available for the occasional baking, cooking, or sewing project, field trip help, or just straightening/organization of our bookshelves.
