I use a guided meditation CD each morning to allow the children to enter the day in a calm and focused way. Today we got to pick out 4 pebbles to use, as the voice tells us to imagine a flower, still water, a mountain, and space. Then the children got their (newly sewn!) pillows and found a spot where they would not be distracted or distracting. Finally, I put on the CD and watched as their bodies got still and quiet. I will join them soon, but wanted to start off with some direct, gentle reminders to close their eyes and to watch their breathing. Parents, please join us!
