This is true pretty much every day. There are very popular spots and activities on our playground - building forts out of sticks, the big tree that is perfect to climb for look-out or important meetings, the logs in a circle which seem to beg for feats of balance, secret places, natural items that allow children to do all sorts of fantasy/pretend play:
And ... one not so popular spot. The only non-natural item on our playground gets nary a glance. Isn't that such a wonderful testimony of the power of nature and what children REALLY need?
