Recycled Paper Bowls

Remember our Environmental Superhero Project for November? We collected junk mail from all classroom families, weighed it, and shredded it. We found out that families, on average, get about 2 pounds of junk mail a WEEK, over 100 pounds per year. Wow.

This week, we completed our project. We took some of the junk mail shreds, added some colored paper and warm water, blended it up into a "slurry" and made paper bowls. I hope they are dry enough to take home on Monday.

Here are all the bowls - so many beautiful colors!

This one is Ella's. She added squares of red paper to really make it special.
