Star Poems
Yesterday during Read/Write time, I demonstrated how to write a special kind of poem, called an Acrostic. Using the letters of a theme-related word, children attempted to write a short verse. Many used STAR or STARS. A few considered (briefly) using the letters in CONSTELLATIONS, but then wisely saved that for another day.
