Volunteering in and out of the Classroom

Parents are always welcome at Summers-Knoll. Several of you have asked if there are volunteer opportunities. That answer is a most definite YES! Here are some examples of how parents have helped in the past:

* Math Helper - we do math each day, M - TH,  from 9 - 9:45 a.m.
* Lunch Parent - this is a vital role we need filled each day from 11:30 - 12:30. Duties would include helping children with lunch, wiping tables and playground supervision. You would work with a S-K staff person and another parent.
* One-on-one Reading - we have a dedicated reading time each day starting at 1:30. Can you come and read with individual students?
* Fun Friday Parent - I love to have a parent volunteer on Fridays. We can do cooking projects, art projects, etc.
* Field Trip Volunteer
* Other - Just ask! Coming in to read stories, straighten our bookshelf, share your culture or special talent - it's all appreciated!

You make it sound so interesting I would volunteer even though I wouldn't have a child there. Looks like it is going to be a great year.
