Little Houses

We remembered this morning how long and hard Pa worked to build the little house on the  prairie. He used logs he hauled up from the creek bottom and mud as a binding agent. I can only imagine how difficult it was!

Our task today was not nearly as difficult - using pretzel rods for our logs and chocolate frosting for our mud, each child made their own replica of the little house. Approaches varied, and each house is just a little different from its neighbor. All turned out pretty adorable, though.

We have two more days to read Little House. I am sure that we will not quite finish it, but children are welcome to take their copy home to finish it there.

The best part of this construction project is that you eat the house.
