The Mummification of a Fish

We started our mold garden today AND we also started the mummification of a fish. All of the children knew what mummification was - and that it was used in ancient Egypt as a way for people to preserve the bodies of their loved ones. We weighed and measured the fish, and then buried him in lots of baking soda. We will take him out in one week, weigh and measure him again, and then bury him in fresh baking soda for another week.

Here it is, the "before" picture.

Buried in a mound of baking soda

Stanley wrote the statistics on our fish - we will reweigh and remeasure it later. What will happen?

Susan, you and the children are doing things I would have only imagined in high school or college. Great work.
