Good News on the Playground

I asked the children to come up with positive and negative things that were happening on the playground, so we could discuss issues as a whole group. I was pleased to hear mostly positive comments - in fact, with the exception of icy and dangerous patches of ground, and the occasional hurt feelings over accidents and turn-taking, the children offered wonderful examples of problem solving and social growth. Here is what I was told:

People are letting other people play games.

People are asking/not just taking.

People are giving things when asked.

Friends are finding different friends.

If you set something down, people don't just take it.

There is no more cutting in line.

People are getting along.
