This week, we are exploring my K'Nex Simple Machines sets. I have three different ones - Wheels & Axles and Inclined Planes, Levers and Pulleys, and Gears. Children are working in cooperative groups and are working to make one or more of the machines from the kit they have. First we had to sort and count the pieces to make sure the kits were complete, then each group had to decide what they were making. Following the printed directions is challenging, but by working together, all problems have been solved so far - and the children are finding this very fun indeed.
