Humane Society Trip

The brand new Humane Society of Huron Valley is AMAZING. What a gorgeous facility for all of those sweet animals! This is the (hopefully) temporary home for about 10,000 animals - dogs, cats, rabbits and other small critters - per year. The HSHV is now a state of the art facility that really feels cozy and, well, humane.

The children, Pare, Kjirsten and I went this morning to drop off a LOT of supplies. Thank you all so much for the paper towels, cat food, dog food, kitty litter, toys, towels, etc. We also made six big beautiful blankets, and my guess is that you can see the dogs cuddling up with these in the very near future. Thanks also for all the money contributed, especially for the large donation from the Boudia family.

With the money, the 2/3 class will be able to sponsor 2 animals. For $25.00, we can choose any animal up for adoption and sponsor them for one day. This is the money it takes for the care, food, medicines, surgeries, cage, bed, etc. for one animal. There were several that stole our hearts, so it will be rather a hard decision.

Please visit the website by going here. You can see pictures of all the animals eligible for adoption, learn about special events, see pictures of the new facility, and read about sponsoring an animal yourself!
