Calder Dairy Farm

What a beautiful afternoon we had at Calder Dairy Farm! It was SO worth the planning, and I want to especially thank Karen Bayoneto who so nicely agreed to go with us. Without her, I would not have been able to do it - it was quite a long, tricky drive. But in true pioneer spirit, we made it there safe and sound.

While there, the kids got to experience a true working farm. We milked Blossom, a very sweet and patient cow, fed lots of different animals, and went on a relaxing hay ride. Well, it WOULD have been relaxing had Dolly and her friend not insisted on going with us. To cap it off, we enjoyed huge dishes of the most delicious ice cream I've ever eaten.

What a valuable experience it was for all of us - there really is nothing like these real life explorations out in the community to make learning so much fun and meaningful.
