Hands-On Museum/Sound Science

We enjoyed our second visit to the Hands-On Museum today. This time, we traveled with the 4th and 5th graders to explore the science of sound. We had a shortened visit of the museum (about 45 minutes) and then participated in an hour long sound lab to make waves, listen for pitch, and discover the physics of sound.

As promised, we allowed the students 1/2 hour to shop in the museum gift store. You wouldn't think it would be so difficult to decide how to spend $2.00. Choices were thought about and discussed in great detail. After about 30 minutes, all students had finally made their selections. Marbles were a big hit, and a group of students learned an old-school marble game and played very happily for the rest of the afternoon.

Thanks AGAIN to Kjirsten for being such a true blue parent helper. Another big thank you to Cesar (Alec's dad) for stepping in today as well.
