We Celebrate Astrid Lindgren in April!

April is Author Study month, always one of my favorite themes. This year, in honor of one of our S-K families (and because I love her stories), I chose Swedish author and activist Astrid Lindgren. She is most widely known as the author of the beloved Pippi Longstocking books, and while these will be available for students to read, I will actually read her other lesser-known books aloud.

I also hope to bring Swedish food and culture into the room, as well as to learn about Astrid Lindgren’s influence in the world. She was a champion for farm animal rights, for example.

The first book I will read is Ronia, the Robber’s Daughter.
