Dye Discharge Project with Kathleen

Thank you, Kathleen, for coming in Friday morning to teach us the dye discharge process! Kathleen (aka mother of Beatrix) explained that you can think of dye discharging as the opposite of tie dying - instead of adding colors, we took the color from a dark piece of cloth.

Children used various methods to tie up the cloth before bleaching. Using rubber bands, dental floss or twist-ties, they bunched and folded their pieces of cloth. The results were spectacular, and the students were very pleased.
