Mindful Way to Start the Day - Please Join!
Starting on the second day of school, we will begin our very important morning routine of Morning Mindfulness. Sitting on the floor, eyes gently closed, we spend 5-10 minutes in guided meditation. I usually use a CD called Sitting Still Like a Frog, but we also will do a pebble meditation in a few weeks (after we sew pouches in which to hold our special pebbles). On occasion, I guide the children in various mindfulness activities. This is probably my favorite time of the day - it is precious to all of us and starts us off with a clearer mind and a kinder heart.
Parents and other community members are welcome to join us! Please do. This can be a wonderful way to bridge the transition from home to school. You may find yourself going off to work in a more grounded way as well!
